Third Conference on Physics and Science Teaching at Key Stage 4

Wednesday 22nd June at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), Oxford Road M15 6BH, Manchester

Following the success of the second secondary school physics and science teachers’ conference last year, the Manchester and District branch of the Institute of Physics together with Manchester Metropolitan University are organising a similar event for 2011.

The conference aims to share the vision and enthusiasm for teaching Physics and Science and it is addressed to teachers working at Key Stage 4 (KS4). The conference target is to inform and add valuable information to teachers. This will help them to transmit knowledge and motivate students in all science areas, especially in Physics. Delegates will be exposed to a range of current developments in diverse scientific fields.

This one day event will provide a forum to reflect on current challenges in teaching Physics and Science at this key stage. Presentations from local and national institutions and organisations will provide ideas and strategies to aid classroom teachers in preparing and presenting materials. This meeting will also provide an opportunity to establish a support network for teachers.

The conference will be held on Wednesday 22nd June at the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), Oxford Road M15 6BH, Manchester.

Free admission for secondary education delegates and exhibitors.

Apart from the presentations listed there will be a number of publishers and organisations offering teaching support material and displaying teaching resources. A full list of these will be presented on the event website:
